BiteFresh is an iPhone and Android app that manages your stock, expiry dates and shopping list, with receipt scanning, Freshy AI and a German-language Alexa skill. By Kadiza Designs, Beckum.
First say “Alexa, öffne Kühlschrank Fresh”. Then “Was läuft bald ab?” or “Setz Butter auf die Einkaufsliste.” These are German commands.
The skill speaks German. You need a BiteFresh account linked in the Alexa app.
How to use the skill
Use BiteFresh in German, English, French, Italian or Spanish. Set country, currency and units to suit your household.

Photograph a receipt, review the recognised food and add it to your stock. You can adjust suggested shelf lives.

BiteFresh brings stock, best-before dates, shopping and meal planning together. Freshy draws your attention to what matters next.
You remain in control. Hints and AI suggestions support you, but do not replace checking packaging, smell and appearance.
Every feature uses the same selected household, keeping the app, Freshy and shopping in the right context.
Freshy answers questions about your stock and performs supported actions through text or voice, such as adding, opening or using food, or adding it to your shopping list.
Fridge, pantry and freezer remain separate but can be searched together. Traffic light, countdown, calendar and reminders show which products should be checked first.
On the six-person/multi-family plan, authorised caretakers can manage up to three additional households, for example for parents or grandparents. The active household, your role and switching are clearly marked in the app.
BiteFresh suggests suitable base recipes, favourites and imported recipes. The weekly plan considers food you already have and adds missing ingredients to the shopping list.
Autopilot learns purchase intervals and can account for minimum stock and automatic usage. Pause it globally or control rules for each product.
Important: Autopilot only adds to your shopping list. It never places orders or makes purchases itself.
Share lists, sort them by store and check off items while shopping. Bring! import and Picnic handover complement the process where the service, region and plan support them. Naming them describes technical handovers, not a partnership.
BiteFresh has been available as an Alexa skill since 25 September 2026. It works with the same household as the app and currently speaks German only.
Ask what expires soon, add products to the shopping list or report used-up items in German. Alexa asks before recording anything as used. First open the skill, then say what you need:
A BiteFresh account is required. Link it once in the Alexa app, including if you signed in with Google or Apple. Recipe suggestions via Alexa use AI and need AI consent in the app and a paid Premium subscription; the trial is not sufficient.
Shared stock and one shopping list for everyone help avoid duplicate purchases.
“Do we still have milk?” can be answered in the app, through Freshy or through the German Alexa skill.
The six-person plan supports up to three additional cared-for households, for parents or grandparents, for example.
The household budget shows spending and your monthly allowance; stock shows what should be used first.

Stock management is free. Premium comes in three plans, as monthly or yearly subscriptions through the App Store or Google Play.

Eligible store accounts can try Premium once for 14 days; the trial then converts to the selected subscription unless cancelled in the store beforehand. Stock and shopping list work without a connection. Sign-in, household sync, AI, scans and external integrations need an internet connection.
Yes. A free account protects the assignment of your data and enables sync, roles and cared-for households.
According to their server-verified role, an authorised caretaker manages stock and recipes and all private and shared shopping lists whose owners belong to the cared-for household. The app always shows the active household before actions.
No. It only adds suitable products to your shopping list. Purchases, orders and external handovers remain deliberate user actions.
BiteFresh is designed for data minimisation, transmits data over encrypted connections and runs its own API on servers in Germany. Personal data is not sold; data export and account deletion are available.
