The problem
10.9 million tonnes of food are thrown away in Germany every year — 58 % of it in private households. Not through indifference, but because nobody knows exactly what is in the cupboard at home when they go shopping.

The solution
BiteFresh brings stock, shelf life, shopping lists and weekly meal plans together. Capture food by receipt, barcode, photo, voice or manual entry — a traffic light system and reminders show what to check first. More than 480 base recipes focus on using what you already have.
Freshy

A small, friendly fridge character that grows in the app. Freshy answers questions about your stock and performs supported actions through text or voice — in German, English, French, Italian and Spanish. It asks first before important or irreversible actions.
Campaign: Freshy Week
From 29 September to 6 October 2026 — during Germany’s nationwide food waste campaign week — BiteFresh offered daily tasks: a stock check, saving food near its best-before date, fridge zones, a shopping list check, a leftovers recipe, a freezer find and shared household planning, followed by a final review. Freshy guided participants through the week.
