How do I save, import or share my own recipes?

Import recipes from links, save favourites using the star, and voluntarily share them anonymously with the community.

Step by step

  1. Recipes › Discover › Web & Reels: paste a link, tap Import, review the Preview, then Save recipe. For a Reel or TikTok link, Freshy reads the post text or description, not the video.

  2. Recipe as a PDF: Recipes › My cookbook › Add a recipe › the PDF tile (Recipe as a file) › Choose PDF. One PDF per import: up to 2 MB in the trial, up to 4 MB with Premium. If the file contains several recipes, Freshy takes the first one. Then review the preview and save.

  3. Your own photo: open the recipe in your cookbook › below the picture tap Add photo, later Change photo or Remove photo. This works for your own and imported recipes, not for base recipes, Cookidoo or community recipes. Photos are only available in a shared household; otherwise the app explains how to set sync to Shared.

  4. To save a favourite, tap the star on a recipe. You can then use Week from favorites and Shop favorites.

  5. Browse Base recipes, included with the app and sorted by category.

  6. Community: tap a recipe to adopt it. Use Report for unsuitable content.

  7. To share your own recipe, open it › Share with the community. Recipes from Premium accounts become visible after an automatic check.

  8. To switch sharing on or off generally: Profile › Recipes › Share recipes with the community.

Good to know

PDF import uses AI: it needs Premium or the trial and your consent to AI features. One PDF counts as one scan, however many pages it has (3 credits in the trial). If the app says The file is too large, no scan was used: choose a smaller PDF or just the page with the recipe.

Already in your cookbook? If BiteFresh already knows the link, You already have this recipe appears before the import, with Open or Cancel. Nothing is read and no scan is used. If the title and ingredients match an existing recipe exactly, the app asks before saving: Open existing or Save anyway.

BiteFresh reads many recipe pages directly without AI. If that fails, AI can read the page text. This requires a paid Premium subscription (not the trial), counts towards your scan allowance and requires AI consent. Sharing is voluntary and anonymous. Social recipe imports read post text or descriptions, not the video itself.
