Glossary: terms from the BiteFresh app

The colour of buttons and highlights in the app. Change it in Profile › Profile › Accent colour.

Your free BiteFresh access through Google, Apple or email. Keeps stock and household available across devices.

Connects the Alexa skill to your BiteFresh account. Disconnect or disable the skill in the Alexa app.

The household you are currently working in. If you care for another household, it is shown beneath the page heading; switch using Choose household.

Learns from your feedback when products actually go bad in your household and suggests a suitable shelf life next time you buy them. Part of Premium.

Enter a product by hand. Only the name is required. Free of charge.

The shopping-list section containing items suggested by Autopilot.

Receipt and photo recognition, open Freshy questions, AI recipes and weekly plans. These need consent; Continue without AI leaves them disabled.

The BiteFresh skill for Amazon Alexa, available in German. Ask what expires, manage the shopping list and report used-up items by voice in German.

Saved for the household and considered for all recipe suggestions and weekly plans. BiteFresh checks ingredient names; always check packaging yourself.

An Autopilot rule deducting a scheduled amount at fixed intervals, such as coffee capsules. Each deduction can be undone.

Adds due items to the shopping list through purchase-interval or minimum-stock rules. Auto-deduct can affect stock. It never buys anything. Part of Premium.

The code printed on a pack. Scan barcode records a product free of charge without AI.

Included recipes sorted by category, with estimated nutrition. Usable without AI and filterable by appliance, style and time.

The manufacturer's date for guaranteed quality, provided storage instructions are followed. It is not an automatic disposal date. Check the food and follow its packaging instructions.

An additional household, such as grandparents', managed with the six-person plan. Up to three are supported.

Someone managing a cared-for household. The caretaker can appoint someone from their own household as Co-admin.

After cooking, the app asks which stock you used if several products match.

Someone from your own household allowed to help manage a cared-for household.

Several tasks for Freshy in one sentence. With Premium, Freshy handles everything in one go.

Recipes shared anonymously by other BiteFresh users. You can adopt them; sharing your own is voluntary.

A 6-digit email code used to confirm a new email address or reset a password.

Export my data provides a file containing your data under the GDPR.

Profile › Data › Delete account irreversibly removes your account and data. It does not cancel a subscription.

The shopping list may show 2 still in stock when you already have an item at home.

A digital receipt, PDF or image, from your retailer's app. Read it using Import e-receipt.

The app records items three or more days past their date as spoiled and removes them from stock. This can be undone.

A 6-character code or link allowing someone to join your household or a shared list.

Import a recipe from a website link using Import recipe. For Reels and TikTok, Freshy reads post text or descriptions, not the video.

Dishes for the days you choose. Add missing ingredients to the shopping list with a tap.
