Why does Alexa not suggest recipes?

Recipe suggestions through the German-language Alexa skill use AI. Three requirements must be met: AI features enabled in the app, a paid Premium subscription, and recipe requests allowed when connecting Alexa.

Step by step

  1. In the app: Profile › Data › AI features must be On.

  2. You need a paid Premium subscription. Alexa recipe requests are not included in the free trial.

  3. When connecting Alexa, allow AI recipe suggestions. If this permission is missing, Alexa asks you to reconnect once. Link the skill again in the Alexa app and allow recipe requests this time.

  4. You can now use this German request:

    • „Alexa, öffne Kühlschrank Fresh“
    • „Mach mir zwei Rezepte.“

  5. Alexa briefly confirms. Finished recipes are not read out as a long spoken text. They appear under Recipes in the app, marked via Alexa.
